I just started this and my jaw has already hit the floor chapter one. Because what ??????? I wasn’t ready

Sorry to say I automatically have a gripe with this one because I have come to loathe the trope of one of the main characters being an alcoholic thus potentially making them an unreliable narrator. I will see this through but :/.

I really wanted to like this book - and I will still try to revisit it but am taking a break because I feel it infantilizes a tough subject and encourages us to just bring good vibes to tough conversations when there is so much more nuance involved than that. I am committed to the bit though so I’ll update again in a few weeks
