Adult reread of a childhood fave ahead of Ryan Coogler's show! Simple diction make this ideal entry-level scifi. The incredible level of body horror, violence, and gore from the very first book are maybe less ideal for that, but come quick to the minds of everyone who has actually read this series, rather than just admired their beautifully bizarro covers

Been tinkering through this a story at a time. Largely good fun!

First reread in many years to prep for SotR

We Lived Happily During the War remains a gut punch of a poem. When relatively safe it can be a fight to keep fighting, but the injustice remains even when you aren't within its crossfires, and someday you will be.

God's garden is full of weeds

Another library find, off the cuff after finishing a DC catchup leading up to Superman, this is proving to be a silly meta experience. An entire issue devoted to Harley choosing her art team is good fun

Some stories are better than others of course, but the journey is worth it for the stories that hit. Taking these one at a time and sitting with them has been a perfect choice, even if it means this book will take a year to read

This is off to a fun start! The writing style is consistent and flows well, and the emerging themes are timely (iPad kids, streamer culture, genetational divide, and of *course* grief)

Valya is a joy, and I'm excited about the hot new Grey Warden lore

A shame so many questionable people have co-opted elements of attachment theory for nefarious gain, because otherwise it all lines up so nicely as a psychological baseline
