The characters are pretentious pricks. I want to keep reading (listening), but I also can’t stand a single one of them.. I just want to tell them to get over themselves and play mermaids in a pool. What does Plato know about playing mermaids in a pool??

Hey so I was wrong about this love story and I adore it. Just popping over here to say that I judged it too soon!

Truly is for anyone interested in the most influential texts in history (aka the Bible) and is accessible to all regardless of religious affiliation. I so appreciate this!

Idk what’s wrong with me that I dislike so many book couples and romances :( I’ve liked one (a relationship that I won’t spoil in Blood Over Bright Haven). I think at this point it’s a me problem lol

Again, I think the characters are pretty one-dimensional, and I dislike the dialogue writing style. Art3mis was clearly written by a man 🙄 But the story and world building and whimsy are mostly there. There’s just pockets of visceral cringe in a book that I mostly don’t want to put down.

On the last stretch..

I veryyyy much dislike the characters and the writing style. The thing keeping me going is the world the story is set in.

I accidentally just saw a spoiler when I looked at movie images 😭 I have some hope for the storyline based on that information, but we’ll see..
