im sorry, im just baffled. i was literally sitting here thinking wow this is some fun tension we have with this mark dude and the secret plot i wonder how she's going to take him down, im so thrilled that we have some actual conflict now. AND THEN! IT GETS RESOLVED OFF SCREEN. ARE YOU SERIOUS. IM LOSING MY MIND

it's crazy how many times a sentence starts with "there was.." all back to back. like jesus christ girl learn some verbs???

so mark is obviously a demon. but the good news is that walden has gotten over her unfounded hate of this guy, who she just decided was a dick before she even talked to him, and now they're actually best friends. thank god there's no conflict or else this book would be interesting

something ive noticed about the writing, that is just getting more irritating as it goes on, is that the descriptive sentences are in the wrong order. Walden is always coming to conclusions before we've even gotten the evidence that might point that way. so it makes it seem like she's just saying shit and pulling assumptions out of thin air

this book loves to set up conflict and then immediately resolve it. SPOILERS wdym we just defeated the bbeg not even halfway through the book. what the hell else is there to talk about?
