I appreciate the perspective, but this is pushing me away from feminism. Its historical context of linguistics is nice and really why i picked it up in the first place (should have done more research on reviews?), but the angry feminism tone is making it hard to read. Maybe because I prefer approaching change with the spirit of collecting a community rather than condemnation… I will push on!

I really was hoping for this to be more of a pop culture history/autobiography feel. But it feels like a collection of journal entries someone has made with assumptions that we all think and feel the way they did. How is it losing my interest after Chapter 2 on Taylor Swift?

"Carrying the full basket [of grapes...] was not like the picture on the red raisin boxes Estrella saw in the markets [...]." Love the comparison of how a farmers experience picking the produce is compared to how the produce is marketed.

People follow different paths, straight or crooked, according to their temperament, depending on which they consider best, or most appropriate---and all reach YOU, just as rivers enter the ocean.
