⚠️ SPOILERS ⚠️ Ending of Part 1 was bad bad but start of Part 2 is good good good! C-athy and C-harles are EVIL. Cathy so far is DOUBLE EVIL!!! Part 2 has our boy Adam’s apple and Samuel Hamstring meeting- HELL YEAH BROTHER ☘️🫱🏻‍🫲🏼🤠 -in tha Selener Valley! SAMUEL… ADAMS… 🍺?!?! What is Cathy brewing up? THAT WITCH! How clueless will Adam be??? TO BE CONTINUED…

I have 1 chapter left til Part 2. I liked Adam when they were boys most definitely but now I like Charles more as an adult. I think Cathy Ames is just like Judge Holden- THE DEVIL (!!!) And if I had to guess, she’s gonna marry one of the brothers! I think she’d choose Adam bc he seems easier to manipulate compared to Charles- mans does NOT converse nor congregate with anyone ESPECIALLY women! I. HAVE. SPOKEN!!!!

So far the story is alright. The writing is good and basic but easy and quick to read. I like Kolya and Lev as a duo. They are about to do a suicide mission of an attempt at getting 12 eggs now and they have 4 days left! Will they make it? Let’s keep reading, friends. :)

The book is really descriptive and well-worded! I enjoy reading about the two families and the nature of each family member. I am curious to see how the two families will be connected. I think it will be connected due to conflict concerning the Salinas Valley land each family has or maybe like a Romeo/Juliet family feud? Only one way to find out! Let’s keep reading :)

Just started the book today! So far I have had to reread a lot of vivid imagery regarding the environment and descriptions of the terrain within the setting of the story and that took a hot minute but now we are learning more about our introduced characters and a bit about the narrator too! I have an idea of how this book will go down since it is tied back to Genesis but not sure in what fashion. Stay tuned! :)

Welp, the story is picking up now! Kolya and Lev begin their second chance at life- with the task of finding a dozen eggs for the twisted colonel. They embark on their journey by going to the blackmarket to find eggs during the war in which they stumble across a burly man who tells them he has eggs for sale. He lures them to his home and Lev feels uneasy. Kolya disregards it but they fall into a trap and escape!

The ending of the book left me stunned and sad :( I didn’t think the story was going to have a happy ending by any means but the ending told by the sisters had me feeling sad and sorry for the youngest Breedlove. Soaphead Church? Disgusting. His distorted view of God and himself with his false sense of self and power fueled false hope for Pecola. She was failed by everyone and given to wickedness. What. A. Read!!!

Goodness gracious, this book is wild. To think that each generation carries a great struggle in which has terrorized them, they too pass down that terror and more to the next. It doesn’t help that society is against them either. It is truly sad to read about the experiences of the girls within this book. :( I will give my final review when I finish.

I had to stop here but I am happy to read this book with Tanner! Our first two short story books were confusing and pointless but this book and our other one we started are WAY better and it feels me with joy to read this story with a beautiful reading partner!!! We are about halfway done and I cannot wait to see what the other half brings for us! Stay tuned!!! :)))

This short story has peaked my interest from the cover art and its introduction. It seems like it will be a treacherous but humoring adventure for two different men who will have to work together to make it out alive. I can’t wait to read more!

I really like this book. The way it is written is done so well and it keeps me turning the page! The material and hardships mentioned throughout the book may not be easy to digest for everyone but I am here for the challenge!
