I'm not saying this is bad, but I'm not getting the hype. Also if I have to read about William's debauchery further, I might snap

All these people surprised that King is mentioned in the Epstein files have clearly never read a King novel. My quality of life would greatly improve if I didn't have to read another slur or perverted comment by him. (I would be less critical if he ever directed those comments to the white men in his novels but he doesn't)
Also, I checked this out from the library so King isn't directly getting my money.

I'm only reading this because I'm a good friend and it was suggested to me. However, this surely was written during King's coke phase because why is chapter 1 called chapter 2 as well with a new pov? Also, he stays being a pervert. How come he never describes men's bodies but I can tell you with 100% confidence what every woman in his novels looks like. Every man might as well be Man (tm)

I honestly don't know what to think

This MC started horrible but she's growing on me. Though I do not like this narrator of the audiobook

I'm really not sure the purpose of this novel. It has a surprisingly jocular tone over a very graphic topic

So far, this is much better than Bean Trees

This is less a horror "romantic comedy" and more corporate expose (accent over the e). This book is drags more than it unsettles
