Things are picking up!!! I’m loving the calmness and ease of this read. Especially given it’s my first time exploring historical fiction. At this point in the book, the characters are diverging and noticing how much wealth and status play a huge role in the others lives and I’m so excited to see where this goes. It did begin as a slow coming of age, female friendship read, but I like where it’s going now…

So far I relate so heavily to the author and her existence being from the Bronx and wanting nothing but to leave it!! I am excited to see what new feelings this book evokes in me as I still feel that push to experience “more” elsewhere.
