I really enjoyed Mandanna's previous witch book and was excited for this one... So I'm bummed that I'm too bored to finish this. Maybe it's the audiobook, maybe I'm just not in the right mood, but I'm not invested in the story in the slightest.

As much as I enjoy Lisa Jewell, this was really not working for me in an audiobook format. Fingers crossed my library gets the e-book, too!

As much as I thought I'd love this, I think I need to stop picking up books that are described as "cosy". Or maybe it's just the timing. Not for me, I think.

Really thought I'd love this, and it pains me to put this on the on-hold shelf after queuing for several weeks for a library copy.. But at this stage the audiobook is background noise that's starting to get annoying, so I think it's time for a break. Perhaps indefinitely.

I love the concept and there's been some fun moments... But I'm so bored and just forcing myself to keep reading. I think it's time for yet another on-hold that will inevitably become a dnf.

I'm more than halfway through, so I feel like I should finish reading this... But do I really have to? The further I read, the more I don't care.

Oof, I don't know if I have the will and strength to keep slogging through this.

Tähän täytyy ehkä palata uudestaan joku toinen kerta: kaikki vaikuttavat rakastaneen tätä, mutta melkein sadan sivun jälkeen en ole vieläkään päässyt mukaan tarinaan. Maailma on hienosti rakennettu ja täynnä kaikkea mielenkiintoista, mutta hahmot, kirjoitustyyli, ja juoni eivät vieläkään ole temmanneet minua mukaan, valitettavasti. Ehkä joku päivä.

It's not the book, it's me. Giving up since the narration is just not for me. I wanted to love this and was very intrigued, but the slow storytelling, tediously detailed descriptions, and nothing seemingly happening, put me off.

I really, really wanted to like this. The story and its background sounded very intriguing and I was interested in the story for the first chapters, but then... I just got bored. I couldn't get fully involved and there was no "hook" to keep me going, so I'm giving up on this for now. Maybe I'll give it another try one day.
