Appreciated the twist. Love the set up for a future series.

Hated how every paragraph ended with “but it couldn’t be correct could it? I’m just going crazy” - we get the point, please stop.

3 stars. Liked the idea of this book, but if it was about 150 pages left it would have been just as dramatic. Didn’t like how all twists were thrown out in long dialogues between Richard and other characters - more suspense and drama would have been better.

Appreciated the characters, but didn’t feel tied to Richard at all. Also, where’s the explanation of the “carnal” element to the initial murder?

Great end. Tried to fit in too much with politics. Why was Scotland independent all of a sudden?

Loved the exploration of gender and sexuality in a world with no men.
