i still think this book is poorly written in comparison to the original trilogy but it’s definitely gotten a lot better as it goes on. having seen the movie before reading the book, i really like how different the actual hunger games are in the book versus how it’s portrayed in the film bc the book seems a lot more horrifying and suspenseful :)

reading this one slower than anticipated because the writing in this book compared to the original trilogy is so poor and it’s sooo disappointing. honestly if i hadn’t seen the movie before reading this one i probably would’ve put the book down after 50 pages. the good news is it seems to be getting a *little* better after page 50 so perhaps i’ll speed through the rest over the next few days
