I think the author did a very good way of logically writing a love story in. I like a slow burn and do not like when couples immaturely just jump right in to being absolutely in love and etc within the first 15 pages of the book and they just met

I also note the way the author does a great job or writing in social cues the main character picks up from everyone by observing them.

At first, it was hard to get into. It bounces around from character to character too much. Maybe it should have had a prologue of longer chapters with each character? Now that the world building is making better sense, I am enjoying it a lot more.

This is a DNF for sure.. around page 40 is a full blown therapy session about the author’s hate and his like for Christians and their God. I have read so many books about pagan gods as a Christian, and none of them have ever went out of their way to openly hate and trash another religion until now. Go heal all your poor me feminist energy, sis.

So far, there’s been about 40 low jabs at Christians in this book. I am having to use discernment and rebuke a lot. I’m not sure if I will finish this or not. There’s also heavy foreshadowing on lesbian feelings for the “bestie girl”… I’m not queer and don’t like reading or consuming queer material. I wish I had googled this book first. To each their own, but not for MEH.

The world building on the beginning could have been so much more, but other than that, I really liked it. I just felt like a few things could have been elaborated on a bit more.
