Read through a shit ton of Québécois/O.N.A.Nite history through Hal and Orin’s phone conversation and only managed to advance 15 pages in the non-footnote part of the book, but I’m back to enjoying things. DFW has a lot of poignant insights trickled throughout the book. He’s created this world that no one else but him could create, which is part of what makes this book so cool.

This book is interesting and makes me think but, gosh, the pages are so long and filled past the brim with descriptors that ramble on for lines. It’s been the type of book so far that I can only pick up for so long… literally… before my eyes begin to hurt and twitch from trying to catch my place in the sentence and trying to remember what DFW was describing in the first place.
