Oh my fucking god, the chemistry is worse than mid. How are yall are in love? You have not done anything together, haven’t spoken to each other about anything. Ewgh.

See normally I love a Wattpad-esque trashy romance novel, but this one is turning out to be a disappointment. I feel no chemistry between the characters, the crime is making no sense, I can’t distinguish between the side characters. The only redeemable aspect of the book is the chapters that are narrated by the male main character.

I just don’t understand why Lana had to act like she is seducing Paul in order to get information, seems like an unnecessary detail.

I have absolutely no idea where this book is going, I don’t understand the character, I don’t see a plot, and I worry that this may just be events after events that have no connection to each other.

If in the end this has something to do with mother’s intuition and love for your child, it’s gonna be such a cliche considering it’s already presented as a possibility 1/3 through the book.

I hate this book.

Why was there a WHOLE CHAPTER on the interaction between Parzival and Shoto??? This entire chapter was so useless and unnecessary, it feels like Cline is geeksplaining everything. Insufferable. I don’t think I can finish this.

Reading chapter 20 was SUCH a waste of my time, all that information about the two Japanese characters was so unnecessary and unimportant to the plot, when the whole point of the chapter was that Artemis had found the jade key. That’s it. Why drag the chapter out?

Over halfway into the book but there’s still so much plot building, and explanations, and descriptions and I am so oversaturated.

1/3 into the book and it’s finally progressed past unnecessary detailed descriptions of video games to the rising action of the plot
