Not bad so far, but I want to shake anyone who had their hands on this book before publishing and didn't correct "bay berry" to bayberry. If you're going to use something that much, make sure you've used it correctly.

I'm starting to hit a wall. These books are getting so long and a good edit to cut down and tighten up would have helped..

Well I certainly don't enjoy tearing up while eating lunch at work, but damn that first chapter hit hard.

Is the haunting debut in the room with us? All I'm getting is overused commas and an idiot who let five random people into her house at night in a snowstorm.

Due at the library in two days so I'm having to read fast and take in all the depressing and sad things at once.

I don't think I've ever read or heard the phrase "rolled her lips together", but I'm pretty sure it's the same thing as pressing your lips together. In any case, Hulda did it (annoyingly) several times in the last book and now again in this one, AND NOW BETH HAS DONE IT. It's overused anyway, but having two characters doing it is making me crazy.
