If you grew up in the 70’s and were a football fan with Match of the Day and Jimmy Hill, this has to be a must read.

Complicated like most British history

I'm very, very late to the James Herriott books but so far, very readable and funny enough to make me laugh out loud. Which is always irritating to anyone else close by. "I was distracted to some extent by a parrot that kept saying "Hellow" in a voice of devestating refinement. The other nice thing is there are no negatives in this book and a great way to escape into 1930's Yorkshire.

Just at the bit where he runs the 100 mile Western States endurance run. So far not too bad but having read the other reviews I’m holding my judgement until the end. The only thing so far is I’ll stop complaining about getting out to do a 4 miler.
I skimmed the 2nd half of the book where he goes on to do other sports and runs a marathon in the Antarctic. In all he does think he is the best thing since sliced bread.

Well the history of the English is long and complicated. I'm only up to the Plantagenets.

Very informative but finding it hard work.

Despite some bad reviews I’m really enjoying this book. It has a quirky reality to it as he meanders around Martha’s Vineyard. I never got into Seinfeld so the fact that Larry David only plays a small part is no big deal.
The funniest parts are about his parents. There are messages about his self discovery from meeting the rich and famous as well as the homeless on what appears to be a lovely island.

Good book. Quite like football autobiographies probably because I am a football fan. They take you right behind the scenes and Zlatan is not your average footballer who has been coached to be bland. Like a lot of footballers he had a tough upbringing in Sweden and Zlatan's big personality comes across. It's one thing Manchester United could still do with.

I've just got past the brutal scene to Hassan. Not pleasant and the brutality is in contrast to the civility of the wealthy life of Amir. So far very readable.
