What kind of disgusting weak pathetic man would do that to someone else.

A white man walked in and said notthup was now his slave and that he had bought him
Northup insisted he was not a Slave
The man stripped his clothes off, stepped on northups chains on his wrist and beat him
He stopped a few times to ask if northup was a freeman or a slave and each time northup said he was a freeman man the white man started being him again to the point of breaking the paddle he was using

He got free papers then got on the road
After some time he and the guys were out drinking
They drugged him
That night he started to feel very ill
So much so that he became unconscious/ lapse in time/ hours to days he doesn’t remember
He does remember the guys that we’re supposedly his friends and other men coming into his room then he remembers waking up in chains in a slave pin

He said yes and bc his wife was out of time and he expected to be back before her he didn’t write her

It is all good but not one I’d neccisarily recommend often, great, surface, gives good tips and starter areas and reminders

- i’m still giving it a 5⭐️ bc Vivian Tu is someone I found a years ago, and I watched a lot of her continent and a lot of interviews that she was a part of, and she talked about most of what she talked about in this book, and so, although none of it was necessarily new to Me a lot of it came from her and I’m just reading this book bc I already liked her content

-I enjoy the book. I thought the book was very insightful. It is a book about Tips on finances. A very beginner finance, kind of book. It’s not budgeting. It’s not going into depth when most things, but it’s a place to start.

We all have money habits ingrained in us from a young age g age and we can learn and grow from those narratives

Money management to dos:
- check your credit score
- rank your debts and figure out a payment plan
- figure out you’re three annual spending levels

The FU number is the amount of money you need to live the way you want without worrying about finances

Investing not saving is how you get rich. You cannot save yourself to rich.

You can afford ANYTHING
you just can’t afford EVERYTHING

Red yellow Green, so grab three highlighters or get those loaded up in your little paint box. Red is for expenses. That are truly not flexible. All the stuff that you simply can’t cut out or cut back on whatsoever without dying. Losing your job or like breaking the law,

Yellow- necessity bit can possible be lowered in cost or frequency

Green - purely discretionary

even people who make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year can be broke. If they don’t use a rich person mentality why two words.

Lifestyles creep.

either internally or externally research. Your Job duties. Both the ones officially in your job description, and the ones you’re doing anyway and compensation. How much do people make elsewhere to do what you do. Compile your brag book

Yeah it’s good to know your worth, but it’s even better to have receipts. If you wanna get paid more. If you want to get a promotion. If you wanna be the person who gets nominated for awards at the end of the year, you need to have a brag book. A book is just a collection of cold, hard proof of what you’ve accomplished. And it’s super easy to set up.

At your job you should be either earning or learning. Ideally both.
Take away, pitches skills, and instead of your old job title. Don’t yourself in a good self pitch like offering perspective employers/anyone you work with a charcuterie board they can pick and choose from instead of a premade sandwich.

You can get into different industries not just competitors

If you wanna work somewhere different. You’re not limited just for your companies competitor as long as that next job has some share quality or responsibility with your previous job or jobs. You are a solid for regardless of the industry.

So, if you’re looking at your current job or current paycheck, and thinking this is absolutely not it. Then you owe it yourself, and you’re net worth to get good at all. Three
- one sell your skills.
