Utterly in awe of Gillig’s writing.

This is the most beautifully written book I’ve read in a long time! It takes a lot for me to love a protagonist, but this one? She’s divine (pun-intended).

Thought I knew where this is going, but I’m continuously surprised! Oliver or Collinth? Whoever could tell.

This book is STUNNING so far. I absolutely love the triple perspective, split chapter by chapter between Inanna, Gilgamesh and Ninshubar, and I can’t wait to see how they intertwine.

Having studied a lot of Mesopotamian mythology, the detail included in this novel is riveting and beautifully accurate. I’m so intrigued to see where this novel takes me.

Page 160 and we’ve for the title name drop! Mr Shah chuckles and says, “In a way, I suppose, we are all birds of Uganda.”

I’m scared.
