I’ve been listening to Oscar Peterson, at Bonnie’s recommendation, and I am having a lovely time.

Wow I sure am Feeling a lot.

Oh! To watch Esme continue to collect and collect information until she forms opinions of her own, growing into herself and becoming more and more sure of herself. Another book to make me cry!! Am I especially tearful? Am I picking books that poke at my emotions? Am I simply finding my space in enjoying art? I have no idea but I do know that I’m having a wonderful time reading again.

You know I like the book if I feel strongly about the characters and boy howdy do I hate Mr. Crane. My heart hurt for Lizzie when Esme was so thoughtless with her precious things. I think it’s fun that I don’t know Esme very well despite her being the narrator. Perhaps because she doesn’t really know herself. Or maybe cause I’m dumb. Who knows.

Ahhhh!!!!! Ah!!!! This book is making me Feel So Much!!! Like fucking Letty!!! Letty had my sympathy, my empathy, and lost it all! The hypocrisy of her words and felt beliefs and not actually meaning them, being willing to abandon her friends like that! Her complete lack of understanding of her privilege and her lack of actual compassion, only theoretical compassion. I knew it was coming and it still tears me apart.

Words cannot express how fucking over the moon I am to be reading this at 9am on a Thursday. I really should be doing paperwork.

Oh, and the book is already making me sad.

Yo the asterisks in-text are very small and hard to find, especially when they’re right next to quotation marks. I thought I was going crazy there for a second.

I am having a wonderful time.

I only read eleven pages and I found like six new poems I really like. Guess I’ll just keep this book on my nightstand til I die so I can keep revisiting.

I am having a very good time reading this. And also wow what a lot of information to intake.

Why is there still so much of this book left? Jesus Christ.
