Okay this is definitely a more fun read than the last few books! Of course I loved all the other books I read, but this one is just more fun? Maybe it seems less serious? I’m very much enjoying it. It’s funny comparing a James Bond novel to the movies! I like inner monologues and thoughts so it’s a different perspective for Bond than I’m used to. The plot is thickening and is very Bond!

I have scarcely been so furious in reading a book as I have this book at this section. I won’t spoil anything, but I will say this: the excellent quality and consistency of writing has not changed, but the subject that I WANT to see in this book is changed. I understand the purpose of this part of the book, but that does not mean I have to like it. Maybe I will like it in a few chapters as it grows on me.

Ah the mystery begins to unfold! And so strange the feelings and romance here. What to make of it all, I shall see.

As predicted in the last update, the author is using the narrative to explore the merits for and against certain ideas and debates. I think that this second act of the novel is just starting to pick up! There’s mystery, there’s the stirrings of a romance, and much more. If only the beginnings of romance were made as simple and reciprocated now as it is made out to be in this and many older novels I’ve read.

I would say that this first act of the book was entertaining. I enjoy how the author uses the medium of being a child to create a natural way to have philosophical debate within the story - and better yet how I believe the author does not yet take sides in the debates. I think the rest of the story will show what the author believes. Excited to see where this new act goes!!

I have to admit, I’m a sucker for books like this. I could absolutely see a lot of people finding this book boring or too detailed, but that’s the type of stuff I enjoy :) I am able to very easily and fully comprehend our titular character’s emotions and feel oddly connected to them. I think I’m going to really like this book.

It just keeps adding more mystery. I feel as though the characters and writing are so descriptive that I am able to understand the emotions and feelings of the main character.

As said before, the writing seems meant to make you feel what the character feels. I think the pacing so far has been great. There’s no fluff. Everything seems to serve a purpose in the storytelling.

It’s unfortunate in reading this that I must put it down at all. I made the mistake of reading this for a few minutes before work and now I must wait for more! From what I see so far, this book is written, in my opinion, to make one feel things. With such ease, the author is able to make me smile and in an instant provide a sense of unease. Emotions are easily conveyed and it feels like a real life story.

I’m not super far in but I’m having fun already. I chose this because I heard it may have similar effects as Dracula and it seems that will be so!

Very descriptive in the sense that there are lots of descriptors in every sentence. I enjoy the drip of information as it comes to the reader. Already I am putting some pieces together but they are predictions only for now. We will see what comes!

Excellent. Epic. I love it. Reading letters between people gives a great view into the writer’s perspective, makes things suspenseful, and allows easy transitions between ideas.

Are some characters needlessly cryptic, leading to problems that could be solved easily with help? Yes. The reader knows what’s going on but the characters don’t. But still, where would the drama be without them gatekeeping? Hahaha

I love how I keep expecting it to follow the same plot as the Nosferatu film (which, yes, in a lot of ways it does), but it’s Dracula! It’s definitely a whole different vibe. I’m barely getting started and yet it’s already really getting into the story. I appreciate how the author allows the reader to gather and interpret information to make connections instead of just laying everything out.
