I’m sorry but “… his joints are well seasoned…” is a funny ass way to call someone arthritic

Usually not a fan of retellings bc I feel like I have to do research on the retelling, just to find out it’s either copy and pasted with 0 uniqueness or I just think the original is so much more succinct. But I’ve had this book on my shelf since 2021 (I got it for free from a college library event ) and I need to read it or weed it at this point

I don’t love the use of Latinx in this book especially since native Latin speakers have been vocally against its use. So far I think this book might be trying to do too much but it’s too soon to tell really
