Wow. The end of chapter 12 actually made me tear up... This is very very good

very interesting so far and even with the science jargon a pretty breezy read.

I enjoy the dialogue and dynamic between Kinch and Galva. And I really like how the adventure is playing out. I can envision the journey and the escapades well. The tone is perfectly dark and humorous.

So far, it is entertaining and at times pretty funny. A very different vibe than both Tolkien and Sanderson, both of whom I've recently read. Curious to see where this goes. I like the concept.

Part 4 ended with a sudden twist. Wow

The second half of this book is flying by. It is very good despite being mostly setup and politics. He really is masterful at building intrigue and expanding the lore through dialogue in ways that aren't forced at all. My predictions are also coming true. Exciting.

Lord Ruler keeps calling himself the Hero of Ages in the epigraphs/logbook. I predict he was actually the hero of the story prior to turning evil or something. Not that he as the evil Lord Ruler won necessarily but that the old evil ruler turned him evil.

I was right that the epigraphs were written by the Lord Ruler… As I suspected.

Very good. Slow burn but interesting through and through.
