The pacing has been slow, the vampire characters are weird in a way that doesn't interest me or endear them to me, and the book just reminds me of the all the YA Twilight knock-offs from the late 00s.

Good beginning. Maybe this will be the book that finally makes me form a solid opinion on Riley Sager.

A lot of fun, but there are certain... word choices that would not be used today. Its strange how much can change in 10 years.

I hope Alexo gets to move on as a character from the whole 'Damaged Manic Pixie Dream Boy' thing.

Reminds me of Until Dawn.

I'm having fun, but I also want to slap every character.

Religious Trauma, in my MM? More likely than you think.

A bit cringey but fun.

A strangely soothing slow-burn horror.

Good set up.

Poor Clementine...

The opening test reminds me of Assassin's Creed.

I was thinking Effie had brownie ancestry.

Loving the new voice.

Liking the development but it feels a little fast.

Impressive how he's able to keep the narrator sympathetic and likable.

Interesting Peter Pan-esc vibes.

I think Elsa was kidnapped by her "aunt and uncle".

Maine strikes again!

Yep, saw that twist coming.

Enjoying it but arguably too many povs.

No one does it quite like a King .

Reminds me of Ready or Not

I can't decide what is weirder: that Jones used to be a door-to-door spider monkey salesman, or that if he had died sooner, he would have been remembered as a great man.

I've heard a lot of people say this is one of the few books that have genuinely frightened them, but while certainly unnerving, I haven't gotten that feeling yet.

Oh, Riley Sager, I'm back once again to try to form a concrete opinion of you.

This was definitely from that period when all FMCs in thrillers had drinking problems.

The lugage is still my favorite character

I feel like the pov timelines aren't quite matching up but I'm otherwise enjoying it.

Protect Butters at all cost!
