There are too many books I want to read.

Woah, this is good. In some ways I wish I would’ve started with this one. In other ways, I feel like I’m only just now ready for it.

Ah there it is. “As we seek to understand Christian Nationalism, we must be careful not to see it as synonymous with conservatism, Republicanism, or other political or religious movements.”

Getting better. I think my gripe at the beginning was that the author did not distinguish between republican and nationalist. He’s now defining what a nationalist is. I really hope he digs into the weeds and sorts out healthy vs unhealthy bends that Christian republicans tend to take. I was also hoping for the same treatment for Christian democrats but I don’t think that’ll happen in this book.

From the first 3 pages it feels like it’s just a scathing review of republicans which isn’t what I signed up for… Republican does not automatically = Nationalist. Guess we’ll see how it unfolds.
