I want to throat punch Steph. Wht doesn’t Sam tell her to mind her own business?

I’m so tired of Florence. I feel like she is the main character in this book but as a reader, I’m loyal to the character this book is SUPPOSED TO be about. I probably would’ve liked her if this was her story, but basically Florence is getting all the main character energy and Medra is at best a side character in her own story. Now our dragon rider has no dragon, no powers, she’s completely sidelined.

I think the author believes she’s doing TOG and is introducing her Manon Blackbeak character and her Chaol & Yris stores at the same time, much to the abandonment of our FMC & MMC

I wish I had realized this series is ongoing and has three more books to come in the future. I’m bored. Nothing has happened and the pacing is so slow it’s practically real time. I’m about to dnf this book at 90%. I feel like I just wasted a week. So frustrating.

It was fine. Maybe not being a big Lion King fan, I just didn’t fall in love with the story or the characters. I enjoyed it enough to finish and it wasn’t painful to read, but I didn’t feel like I need to rush out and buy a trophy copy. I thought the scene in the church was pretty hot. Liked how Simon humanized Tristan and the friendship between Sera and Timothy.

My only problem with this book is the inconsistencies about the healing power of the khui. In earlier books the khui fixed frostbite inmost instantly, staved off an actual brain tumor, and healed Rahosh’s broken back within two weeks. But Tiffany has a sprained ankle that takes two weeks to heal? And usually you can walk on a sprain within days? And all
The above without the help of the healer.

I think I’m also not sure that basically the underlying message of this story is that his success in his job, his wealth, are somehow ungodly or unpious - yet without those things he would not have been able to do all the good things he did, he would not know all those people

Now I’m irritated. Is she really about to take her vows two seconds after having sex? I guess maybe the idea is that taking these vows is more like permanent lent? So you want and desire and you choose to deny yourself for the rest of your life. I’m not 100% sure I believe that denying yourself makes you more worthy of God, but maybe it’s because I’m trying to rationalize wanting love children anything

I’ve been crying for the last 5%. I am definitely reliving my own experience in hospitals, death too young, too soon, and weirdly not soon enough. My father dying when I was on my way to be there for his last moments. It’s hard.

This moment - I’m crying so much. I want to know if these scenes when mom is in the ICU and Zennie has broken Sean’s heart - does it make everyone else break? Or is it having lived through being in the icu with a parent, watching as they slip away piece by piece, and imagining not having the love of my life at my side, or worse, having him leave me too, right on that moment. My heart is breaking for him.

Okay so I have loved this book until this moment. I’m kinda creeped out by the scene with her asking him to pretend she’s 17. First of all, she’s too young as it is, but now the game is she’s still a child? Eew

Ngl this book so far seems like a repeat of the other book. Each MC is up to something nefarious, and again planning to trick and use the other person for their own means. Gideon continues to say he’s going to kill her. Enemies. Of course suddenly there’s a missing sibling who can help Cressida raise her dead sisters back to life. I’m gonna guess that the sibling turns out to be Rune.

Wtf so Glyndon’s mom just let her apologize for not being talented enough. Mom didn’t interrupt her to say wtf. As an artist, I can say fuck that noise.
