I’m reading at a slow pace right now with studying but reading this on the way to uni is satisfying. Easy but Murakami’s writing has always stuck out to me. He can capture life’s simplicity with such profoundness

“War is god” speech (p262-263) one for the best parts of the book. Cormac McCarthy’s vocab is so large, it makes me feel dumb but his monologues and descriptions are so fun for read.

“Notions of chance and fate are the preoccupation of men engaged in rash undertakings.”

When the Indians surround them - each sentence is like half the page. Epic
