Sarah S. is reading The House in the Cerulean Sea (Cerulean Chronicles, #1)
This was a huge departure from my usual reads, but it was a really nice break and worth the wait (over 90 people ahead of mr at the library) I thoroughly enjoyed this even if the two main characters felt like they were more than a little bit based on Aziraphale and Crowley. The kid's were adorable and made me laugh our loud at times. I'm looking forward to the sequel!

Sarah S. is reading Beneath the Rising (Beneath the Rising, #1)
I really like this book, it was maybe a touch long, but I don't understand why the rating is so low. Her writing is amazing, and it was touching and heartbreaking, which I wasn't expecting.

Sarah S. is reading We Used to Live Here
Gonna be sitting on this one awhile. It lived up to the hype to a degree, and I like it ...but I'm not sure I actually understood it? I think it might need a second read, and either a sequel or maybe it needed to be longer. Can you tell I'm confused? 😅

Writing was not as good as I hoped, very slow, kinda predictable.

Sarah S. is reading Thirst
This felt like half a book, im so disappointed. It's description makes it sound like they're going to have some meaningful gripping connection but it's just not there. I really loved the first half with the vampire, just give me the other 50% please.

Sarah S. is reading A House with Good Bones
Pretty good, reminded me a bit of true blood, not because it had anything to do with vampires, just the southern campy magic vibes of it.

Sarah S. is reading The Cherry Robbers
I have such mixed feelings about this book and what it all meant. The writing was beautiful and ai kept going in the hopes it was building to a point, if it did, that was lost on me. Mostly I just feel depressed.

Another phenomenal collection of stories by this author, I am now going to move on to her full novel, and will be reading her work from now on. It's terrifying, dark, ugly, and gritty, yet beautiful. I love seeing women authors not being afraid to dive head first into horror.
