i’m barely into the book and this white man has used the word ‘colonising’ too many times for things that could have been described a different way, as a poc i’m not a fan.

this seems like the beginning of a beautiful love story but i’m so scared i’m gonna get heartbroken

finally feeling brave enough to read this book, wish me luck!!

i’m listening to this as an audiobook on spotify and there’s a weird amount of music to show when the perspective changes and i don’t like it 😭

this book is so bad oh my, i’ve gotten this far so i will finish it but yikes there’s so many plot holes this book could be a net

i’m so bored, the plot is moving at a snails pace, the last few chapters have been about the same thing

god this couple is so toxic and i’m kinda obsessed

there’s so many characters that could be guilty that i genuinely have no idea who it could be, very excited for the twist!! i also wasn’t expecting there to be a religious undertone about sins and morals but it adds to the vibe

i’m not the biggest fan of how the chapters are structured. i wish each chapter was dedicated to a different character because i find jumping between perspectives every few paragraphs confusing and it makes it hard for me to really get lost in the story

at the moment the dad is being portrayed pretty badly so i’ve got a feeling that in a few chapters time we’re going to find out something really juicy about the mum that’s going to change my entire perspective about the family dynamic

so when the blurb said ‘…life or death’ was it metaphorical??

everyone is still alive… i hope that the mystery part of the story doesn’t get rushed

this seems like it’s gonna be a fun romance/ thriller book. i appreciate that at the start there was a snippet from the end because this book is definitely a slow burn. i’m on chapter six and we’ve gotten to know the characters pretty well but everyone is still alive

i’m listening to this as an audiobook and it definitely makes the book better because it’s compiled of mini stories all told by the patient. it honestly feels like i’m just listening to a true crime podcast

just when i thought i knew where the story was going we made a sharp turn and now i’m so confused. i just KNOW that the conclusion is gonna eat

i have no idea what’s going on or where the story is headed and i’m excited!!

love the suspense that it’s built however the chapters stop and start randomly, i feel like a few of them could have been merged especially those that are back to back but so far that’s my only critique!!

loving it so far!! it seems to be set on the same day and it has multiple povs, my two fave things in a book!! i’m excited to see how the two separate events that are happening simultaneously will end up connecting later on

i still have a chunk to go and they’re hinting it’s natural causes??? i can’t lie that would be an original plot twist

a new character just dropped!! i can feel the puzzle pieces coming together!!

oooh i feel the twists coming!! i looove when a mystery book slowly builds up to a big reveal

i’m obsessed, the dual pov’s are chefs kiss and i love how the author is slowly building up to whatever weird shit is gonna happen without being too obvious or the plot seeming to be boring.

this book is so good i physically feel ill and worried for the characters

not even 100 pages deep and this book feels so creepy even though nothing that bad has happened. im not usually one to read books from the 1970s but this one is so well written i might start reading other classical horrors

i’m on chapter 15 and THE HUSBAND IS SUS!! i’m calling it now he’s got some twisted secrets we’re gonna uncover

it’s a currently quite slow paced but i’m being given enough breadcrumbs that i’m invested. i love that the narrative style is past and present to really help build a clear picture of what’s going on/ what happened
