Esther’s racist comments, and admittedly being ungrateful are making me really dislike her.

I feel a deep understanding for Esther, although I do feel annoyed at her from time to time when she’s simply not satisfied with anything. I feel for her but at the same time I do feel like she’s a bit entitled.

interesting so far, me and the main character have a couple things in common, i feel like we’d be good friends

easy to follow and well-paced

So far this book has given me insight into Maya Angelou’s world as a young girl. There’s definitely parts that made me broke my heart and made me cringe, as well as parts that made me smile and filled me up. Although the book does kind of drag and makes me question why certain characters or scenes are mentioned and what the purpose behind going into detail about them is.
