Post-Essay Thoughts so far of this Novel:
The Essay was painful.
On a larger note, however, there is a lot to criticize on the modern discussion of this novel. While it does have its difficulties and slow pacing, I largely disagree with the rhetoric that this book is "trash" or "misogynistic" despite those very themes being present.
I would argue that if we utilize feminist discourse we find it aligns well.
