150 pages in DNF.. at its best it is superfluous and at the worst it is racist.. beautiful concept sad that it wasn’t executed better. maybe I’ll finish it later on

if I don’t like a book after 100 pages I’m not finishing it stop with the DNF shame!!!!!

apartment as an antonym to home…I need to see someone’s truck and their front yard and the color brick of their house so I know how to tell I’m home too.. and if their address is painted on their driveway.. bikes tipped over because we had to run inside to eat dinner before we could jump the ramp one more time. streetlights covering us in mosquitoes. grass, soil, earth, yield fruit. then Home <3

This book is so long; it’s really good & I’m enjoying it a lot, but I have two books staring at me and I wanna read them so bad 3 u know what they say about patience..

Had to take a break from this bc it started getting so discursive and conceptual. When I read ethnography I like the semantics to be a little more human.. like less theoretical. That’s the point of the genre. Basically it reads a little pretentious which as we all know is ugly. I’m ghosting it until Wednesday bc it made me bored on the train..
