150 pages in DNF.. at its best it is superfluous and at the worst it is racist.. beautiful concept sad that it wasn’t executed better. maybe I’ll finish it later on

i remember making a baking soda
volcano in third grade
as it erupted
the lava destroyed the beauty
of the canvas that held it

my heart used to struggle
to subdue the brokenness
of my past
worried it would explode
and tarnish my body’s value

i have found a way to solidify
the heat of my fears
living in overflow
with the glory
of empowerment

the abundance of the table
is a river of delight
sustain life

feed my soul
the bread of adversity
the water of affliction

glisten with glory
the dew of a new day
is where I rest

this vessel
commune in stillness
reap what was rooted

in love

apartment as an antonym to home…I need to see someone’s truck and their front yard and the color brick of their house so I know how to tell I’m home too.. and if their address is painted on their driveway.. bikes tipped over because we had to run inside to eat dinner before we could jump the ramp one more time. streetlights covering us in mosquitoes. grass, soil, earth, yield fruit. then Home <3

How did your voice
Become mine
I miss talking
To myself

I am everything
I am nothing
Shut up

I just want to sit at the shore
Feel the song of the breeze
And hear the stillness

Let me know your love
Tainted yet pure
Nothing I know I know
I want what is mine

You thief
I’ve lost
And you are free
I wish you were chained

To the guilt of your transgressions
Yet I sit
And hope
You find peace

Had to take a break from this bc it started getting so discursive and conceptual. When I read ethnography I like the semantics to be a little more human.. like less theoretical. That’s the point of the genre. Basically it reads a little pretentious which as we all know is ugly. I’m ghosting it until Wednesday bc it made me bored on the train..
