Definitely more hot romance than mystery which, as much as I loveeee romance, is a little disappointing. I like Riley and Nick tho. The writing is good and interesting (aside from the micro aggressive ways in which she describes Black men 🙄)

This book is actually written in too many places, I’m so sorry

I was in love with it early on, but it really feels overly simple and as though I’m supposed to buy into this strong connection between the MC and love interest without good reason. Big sigh

I’m having so much fun with the book. The dialogue is actually funny, and the banter between Holly and Kai is giving a little bit. He is a little mean to her and she just allows it, and I’m not a huge fan. Also doesn’t track compared to how she was when they first met so that’s a bit odd imo.
