I really don’t want to read this right now I’m in a slump

Basically men are dumb, prideful, selfish, etc.
I do really love this book though
Also, I’m very obviously anti-war but I do just love a war centered book (sorry friends talk to text )

Patroclus is dead and now I’m gonna cry
I’m reading the Fitzgerald translation but I’ll reread as Emily Wilson’s at some point.

A lot of the book is just fighting which is interesting but this book is just a war. I do love a warrior mourning his lover…

Back to 30% started a new translation sorry Emily Wilson I hated that translation

Finally Lee and Sam Hamilton meet
Now it’s good

There’s too many people in this and women as war prizes makes me angry

Also certified Achilles hater here and I’m reading the the silence of the girls next or after the odyssey. (Everyone should read if they read either of homers epics)

I was going to read the Fagels translation but I’m lazy so I’ll start with Emily Wilson’s translation
Gotta finish before the Odyssey movie…. lol

So upsetting but so interesting

Crazy work read lol

Obsessed

I dislike everyone, best book ever. The more I read the less I’m excited for the movie (duh) I’m still gonna watch but I’m really scared it’s going to be come BookTok remake of a very good gothic novel. I do see the themes of depravity coming through in the trailer on soundtrack. Love Jacob Elordi but Healthclif; is not white so that makes me mad! That just ruins a lot of it :/

Always an Anthony Bourdain stan
