my main character is in romantic relations with families host student, oliver. i think its a mix of positive and negative growth

my main character, elio has the name of an italian and spanish form of Alieus, meaning "sun". its also the italian form of Helios which is also "sun"

elio is the protagonist in the book. the author uses indirect characterization to contrast elios intellectual maturity with his emotional youthfulness

im in between it being high concept or not. some people might love this book and the ideas in it and some people not so much. i personally love the way the idea that elio is just rambling about how he feels in such words that make it so good because hes not just rambling how one would in a personal diary or so but rambling wiht words that really make you have to think what he means.

i think the author chose this title because there may be a line in the book with it. its telling me there might end up being a deeper relationship between the 2 instead of the surface level friendship already had so far in the book.
