Just finished book one; starting with praise yet acknowledging his doubt in faith at the same time was soooo relatable, and very thought provoking—was definitely spiraling afterwards.
Despite thousands of years difference, it’s insane how relatable some of these thoughts are

Opening with the story of Nanabozho was a perfect choice in laying out main message of the chapter; in order to show the importance of responsibility and thanksgiving, Nanabozho took away the ability for villagers to over indulge in the gifts of the maple trees. Absolutely love…the emphasis on learning the native language and connecting with her roots in chapter “learning the grammar of animacy”

Most of the men described in the book are just shitty people in general….
