I’m halfway through; it’s so wholesome and quiet and heartwarming. NOTHING bad must happen.

Skim worthy at best. Far too much filler. Unlikeable love interest (I’m eyeing you Mal, grow up)

This seems like a literary practice for a physicist. 👏🏻 20% is pure fictitious stories which are incredibly boring and unneeded. I can understand that a train is moving without the family history of every single passenger and observer.

Admittedly, this book is for laymen, but Greene needs to understand that people are not stupid! We don’t require senseless elaborated stories and metaphors on each page; it makes the book incredibly redundant, ineffective and outright annoying.

Currently reading it: too much literary flourish that it is hard to focus on the important stuff. Too much stories and unnecessary words and anecdotes; this is extremely specific but literally annoyingly clarifies the most petty, unneeded details. Its useless. I have not learned anything except a few new fancy words in the first 50-ish pages. Hope it gets milder👏
