No surprise that Jordan Peele knows good writing, this first story had me so hooked and was written so well!

So excited to finally start reading this as we head into spooky season 👻

On to part 2! Crazy segue, is Snow so obsessed with the Covey that he's kept tabs on them all this time and that's how he knows Lenore must be Covey? But then wouldn't he know her name? Maybe it's more to do with the resourcefulness of her gift, or something about her presence or attire at the reaping? Either way that was so eerie.

It's amazing to see how close Haymitch truly would have been to these people that were in the 75th games, we know already that he knows the other victors but not how intertwined their lives were at one point and possibly beyond. The emotions of this story plus the added emotions of the future stories, it's a lot and so good!

Lucy Gray being erased from history is so sad. Even Lenore Dove not wanting to talk about her, which makes me wonder whether she's keeping a secret or if her uncles just don't speak of her anymore.

"The moment our hearts shattered? It belongs to us." Two chapters in and I'm crying already! With the last games being from the Capitol's POV it was so much less sad. There were sad parts of Coriolanus' life of course but knowing his future and his morals I ultimately didn't care. This one is going to HIT.

"That over there's the bowhunter. He looks like Burdock, don't you think?" I'm crying.

Suzanne Collins is SO GOOD at prequels, the most basic plot points that we know are going to happen are somehow still a mystery how they happen right up until the last minute.

And everyone in this small district town is tied together huh? It's so enjoyable to connect all of the dots and the connections/parallels to the future.
