After getting a little bit of his backstory from The Ritual and The Sinner, I’m so exited to finally read Tyson’s story.

Who would’ve thought it’d take Camille being sick for her to finally give in to her feelings for Ryker?

Enter Jude who is also putting Ryker, along with his feelings, in his place. Ultimately Camille and Ryker just need to have the conversation of what happened during New Year’s Eve no matter how hurtful it may seem and hash things out. All this bickering is actually annoying… like they are in middle school.

Finally Camille admits her being insufferable is because she wants her dad’s approval. And given the nature of their relationship, Ryker is probably right. Camille is doing all of this work only for it to maybe not pay off in the end - getting the promotion she wants.

Loving this book so far. The years of tension between Nairie and William is what I love in a romance book. Especially when it happens this early on instead of halfway through and it’s rushed as you read on.

Camille is really getting in my nerves. At some point, Ryker needs to call her out and make it known that she’s not just committed to helping him clean up his image to impress the board, but Camille is more hell bent on proving to her dad that she’s capable of doing her job and just wants his approval. As soon as Camille can admit she’s being selfish, maybe she’ll finally be somewhat happy.
