...it's not a good thing when I checked my progress to see that I was only at 63%... and sighed.

...the ML's confession read so much like emotional manipulation. My discomfort reading this just spiked.

This is rather hard to read. Whenever it wrote about the ML's treatment and thoughts of the MC, I couldn't help but thought of predatory grooming. The story also repeatedly emphasized how pure and innocent the MC was, which just made this worse.

I don't understand. It's said that MC had no money, so how did he get access to a therapist?

I don't get it. MC can't even get her priorities right. On one hand there's a possible crisis which might lead to loss of lives... But instead of addressing that she chose instead to stay back and spend extra time with the young boy because he was crying. Is this the equivalent of taking your hands off the steering wheel of a moving car just so you can put on your make-up?

Finally! The pace has finally picked up. Stuff actually happening and all that jazz.

Progress has been preeeeetty slow - mostly because there are words that are simply alien to me... it hinders one's speed of reading when one can't understand what was being said.

So far this book has been a very enjoyable read... it's difficult to put down, once you start reading.

Seeing the same formulae so far... Swift getting attacked within the first few pages of the book and people dying/dead after he met up with other people who could help.
