I was told this book is a good intro to learning about African spiritual practices and traditions. It is! Decently well written, and but repetitive at times but then again I’m still in the beginning! I think the meet and potatoes are towards the middle/end.

The more I read, the more sense it makes, and the more it confirms my intuitions on what our human connection is with a “thing” that is far greater; and the more I want to do a past life regression for myself

Almost there - it’s good, taking a while (probably bc of the difference in writing style/story telling characteristics compared to American literature) but when I lock in I’m in it; very intriguing though, interested to see how it ends

It’s very……..lonely. The silence of her life screams through the pages.

Every time I close this book, I look forward to the next time I’ll open it again

Big fan of Hunag, her writing is so sharp and the pace is phenomenal!!!!

bell hooks writes with such empathy and succinctness; will definitely read more of her work
