Grey is my favorite. The amount of fed-up he is with the curse is hilarious. Him backtalking the prince is my favorite. I especially liked when he was ordered to not harm Harper, and then proceeds to stand by, arms crossed, and watch as Harper gets a good whack in on the prince.

It really goes to show the kind of relationship he and the Prince have, and the level of fed-up they both feel about this curse.

Right off the bat, I feel like I'm reading from the perspective of a 14-year old girl who's way too excited about going to a Justin Bieber concert.

Ya'll, is it bad I'm lowkey kinda hoping Gav and the princess become a thing? Like I wouldn't mind a side romance with them, or even a hint.

I'm not talking a full-on makeout sesh or anything, maybe just an open-ending hinting at them being a thing. 👀 Because that'd be cute. She really just gave the demon an ultimatum like she was the one in charge.

Gav is hilarious so far. I think the author does a really great job writing him as a seperate person from his pre-memory-loss self. I really feel like every time Dread Lord Gavrax is brought up, it's a totally different person, and it's wild remembering "wait no Gav is him, just with no memory."

I'm having to really push myself to get through this. That's not to say it's bad, I actually like it quite a lot, but the story doesn't grip me nearly as much as I had hoped.

As I listen, I find myself reminded that the characters are inches tall, and I'm glad the author continues to use language to express that.

I'll give it props for acrually ending instead of dragging on.

Bc threatening your ex-boyfriend cop with a gun while you're already under suspicion for prior behavior is a good idea. 🫠

This writing is... Not that great so far. It does a lot of tell, not show.

🙄 I already hate this. And just deciding Isla's gonna rule over the [redacted] realm w/o proper consultation seems... Unfair... Especially when she's already stated to not being able to rule properly nor seems to want to rule anything??

This book has a bad case of Tell Don't Show. The world building is shallow. 💀

Doggggg 💀 this is straight up embarrassing, like I'm getting second-hand embarrassment.

Oh my god never have I regretted buying a colldctors edition before bc I hate this so much already but the art in the colldctors is downright beautiful.

So I see why people said the latter 15% of the book popped off. I went from being somewhat bored of what I thought were somewhat slow, unimportant or needlessly dragged-on scenes, to eagerly anticipating the next book.

CC does a wonderful job weaving clues into seemingly mundane chapters and scenes, all for it to come together at the end. The cliffhanger is rounded off and satisfactory, yet still leaves me yearning.

Unfortunately, this seems to be slower than the first book, and not for the first time have I considered putting this down. But I only have 2 days wifh the audiobook from Libby, soooooo

Got ahold of the graphic audio version of this, and it was so much better listening to it than the OG VA of the normal audio.

I will say, I enjoyed this book better than the first few.

This was better than I thought it would be. The very start had me wanting to quit, but the bar scene after was when I began to like it.

This books is nothing but weak banter, and one-bed trope with Indiana Jones sewer escapes. Plot? Where? Because I don't see it.
