I really enjoy how the chapters jump between two entirely different narratives. It gives a nice easy place to put the book down and come back to later. I really enjoyed the content of the world's fair storyline, which is what initially attracted me to the book. The Holmes story was disturbing, but it didn't detract from the rest. Sometimes a bit choppy and disorganized, but overall a great and informative read.

Kind of annoying how almost all the images are sketches of real buildings rather than pictures. Not exactly an easy read when you have to decipher which elements are being talked about because they aren't represented super clearly on the page. I found myself putting the book down a lot and googling the actual buildings represented.
