These stories are boring. To give you a flavour: Imagine Lovecraft but with more nihilism and less mystery.

I have switched to the newer version which is 543 pages.

Fantastic book. Bogle didn’t know about algorithmic information theory and so wasn’t able to express notions of simplicity as Kolmogorov complexity or randomness as Martin-Lof randomness, but it is clear he has come to an intuitive understanding of these very notions through experience in the market.

At some point someone should write a definitive formalisation of this thesis using the language of AIT.

Re reading

So it was Dedekind’s idea to formalise the construction of the Naturals as the intersection of every natural number sequence starting with 1. The idea in its simplicity is so beautiful.
