It’s like meeting an old friend. Call me nostalgic or a little homesick, but the first part of this book brings fantasy and quirkiness. It brings tropes and trends back from the 2000s of a hidden world in our background like Spiderwjck Chronicles and Bridge to Terabithia. It’s sucking me in with this intriguing power struggle and politics of the world of Wildwood.

The out of place animals section of the book is by far my favorite section. The descriptions of disbelief of finding animals that shouldn’t be there. Just the book having fun rather than being too serious and scary.

Interesting and intriguing stories about mysterious animals and cryptids in the state of Wisconsin. It’s the type of book you read at a camp fire before bed.
