So far greatly enjoying this book. Griffith’s prose are absolutely beautiful.

I don’t know what it is that these characters possess. At first I thought it was a deep sadness, but that wouldn’t be accurate. No. Guilt…perhaps…shame, indignation, regret. There is, in these characters, a great deal of permission given to the reader. Permission, I believe, is the greatest, and scariest thing, an author can give…

Is Dr. Kimbote going to be the king? Like, he knows alot of intimate details about the kings life. Idk. And like, they’re both repressively gay so 🤷
