Part 1

Once again, fantastic prose. It’s amazing how Humbert is able to lure us into his “otherness” and his devilish side through language that is for lack of a better word, beautiful and dense, and by this effect he hypnotizes us to keep reading what he has to say. Chapter 13, although quite powerful and nauseating and downright despicable, is detailed in such a way that I am in awe.

Nabokov’s writing these 30 pages was intoxicating. The intricate details and thoughts of Humbert was amazing, so engrossing. I’m very much engaged to the max.
