Lovely depiction of urbanism and day to day life in Japan. Despite being surrounded on the story of a murderer, the book pushes more insightful and social issues than a creepy horror filled story

Unfiltered and raw, the almost seemingly rude narration from the mc is refreshing in a world of deep fakes and shallow personas

Loving the parallel perspective of each character. I’m glad Alice & Eileen seem to be the core focus, and their emails to each other are the bridge from one characters pov to the other

Narrator I had a bit of a hard time following along, which a chapter subtitle it took me a second to realize the shift in narration. I took a couple days of a pause between reading, so picking the book back up and trying to remember who was speaking had been a bit of challenge. I find this is a book to read standalone with no other side projects haha !

Alice’s narration is incredibly alluring and descriptive. Im curious to see more complex encounters with other characters or even simple mundane tasks

Development of Natalie’s connection to Nora seems off-putting

I’m curious if Natalie’s displacement and feelings of loneliness is driving her towards Nora. Perhaps it’s from this need of securing something that naturally ‘found’ her, and not Natalie seeking it out.

Beautifully descriptive in every encounter or action the MC goes through.

Loving the overall themes of brainwashing into a corporate routine and a very draining work life balance. The descriptive adjectives and subtle hints towards the title is so alluring and well executed! The book really plays up the artist/poet idea of pomegranates being so symbolic and metaphorically intertwined
