Real talk I wish I stopped reading this after the first story but I feel like im too far in now. Im actually super uncomfortable and I hate it.

Just finished the second story and I liked it a lot better. Just someone in bad circumstances trying to make a better life. Honestly wish it was a longer story, felt like it kind of just ended.

I fear this story is also a sad one

I finished the first short story and im so confused

It's honestly really good so far. The author uses a lot of stories and examples, which makes it an easy read even though I'm not typically a reader.

Made it to chicken so today was excellent. Highlights are Kung pao (45), chicken with Peking sauce and Chinese sesame buns (46), chicken with spicy peanut sauce (48)

Pretty good so far. Some recipes are a little lack luster but culture info and details make up for it. Highlights so far are paper wrapped chicken (20), cashew pork (36), and sweet and sour ribs with kumquat sauce (38).

I "read" through chapter 4 for my book club. This section was better than the first, but I still think the original article may be the best part. Some good parts in here about finding meaning in other ways if you have a bullshit job

Chapter had a lot of definitions here from the author about settings rules for what bullshit jobs were. Didn't really care or ask though.

Read preface (27 pages so no joke). im interested so far. It was about the original article the book is based on. Claimed my future job is a bullshit job, so that was cool.
