When I was young, my parents drummed into me the lesson "never kick someone when they are down." While this book was a fascinating read, it constitutes sanctimonious schoolyard bullying by an adult. That is why I am giving it a one or two. And why I took book from the library rather than purchasing.

Too many factual errors:
1) Transjordan was created, became independent in 1922, not 1946'
2) The Olympic Massacre was in September 1972, not July;
3) The U.N. is at 1st and 44th, not 2nd and 44th;

In Jerusalem the stones have a story to tell, a story not only about Jerwalem. Rather, it is all the stories of our people, both in the Land of loracl and in exile. It is as if the stones of Jenualem gather the stories in our absence, catching them out of the air, storing then away safely, until a time we need to hear them, to remind us how we longed to come home.
