Soooo many islam references, so nice. Makes me curious about how this book is received by non Muslims though. I hope well still.

The chapter before ch.16 was more than I anticipated LOL. But I regret to say I liked it :/ and the book so far has been kinda slow to me but I’ve been liking it.

More fantastical every book but still I like it

Reading for book club; I actually like it so far?? It’s actually good I think in comparison to the other book club books 100% it’s more thought provoking and has nice academic references. I’m not cool w suicide tho so waiting for phoebe to get over this… (22%) through atp and she just said she doesn’t want to die!! Yay

wish this book was 3 books and the next two didnt exist till later bc the 1st half of this book is so epic

i like this a lot and i realized as well the difference with the main character being a girl means a lot to me like i much prefer reading a womans pov,,,, tbh with city of brass the first like 20 chapters i skipped the alternating boy and girl chapters and only read the girl chapters first then i was like fiiiine i know im not reading it how it is supposed to be read;;;; anyways i love this book so far

yo WTF WHYYY

I am so happy about the friend Robin gets!!!! I am so happy for him! But I am worried... I hope nothing bad happens between him and Ramy and I hope Ramy gets portrayed in a positive light PLEASE. Also getting to when he is finally in Oxford is such a breath of fresh air!! I was getting so sick of Prof Lovell and the monotony in his life in the first two chapters.

anyone else hate when it gets to ali's part .... just me? i wanna know what my girl nahri is up to but she keeps getting interrupted by boy stuff smh

just finished ch. 1.......... its very very good so far even though not much has happened!! I love the authors footnotes and warning before the start of the book, i am excited to see how it reads!

in ch. 3 and its soooo goooood so far. was scared to read this because it's not usually something I would pick but i'm loving all the references to diff stuff so far

i stopped reading it because i got bored

actually terrible horrible unfortunately real life stuff happening now in this book :( but it's still good just hard to get through at the moment i might temporarily switch books not sure though,,

didn't expect this pro zio bit in the middle :/

i like it so far

kind of a bland story. nothing of note has happened yet. nonetheless, pleasant and nice. hasn't made me feel any sort of emotion compared to the other books i've read. cute cover and the pigmy hippo is such a vibe though...

its ok, its not my favorite

Its a good book. It is intense in parts. It reminds me sort of of pachinko in that you see multiple generations pov and also that it speaks of politics of the time.
